Block
Jam is Back!!!
Coming to you from the Block Shop in Lancaster California
Rich Bartlett brings his best promotion ever. Since the King of
Dirt in the late 80s BMX has not had days as fun filled and
history making. This year 8 bands will take the stage including: Stole
Your Woman, Section
8, National
Product, American
Eyes, Nothing
Special, Eudora,
Victory
Within and last years Rock to Block winners Common
3rd.
X-Games Dirt Gold Medalist
TJ Lavin from Schwinn, along with Hyundai/GT's Gravity Games Gold Medalist
Stephen Murray made Block Jam 3D a huge success. In 2004 Block Jam
saw over 50 pros riding the GT Half Pipe, Street Course and Dirt
Jumps. Gary Laurent (who grew up in the AV but move to Vegas to do
the Globe of Death in the Rivera Splash show) brought his
show ramps and tore it up. Other notable pros
included Robbie Miranda, Todd Lyons, Austin Coleman, Mike Day, Cesar
Flores, Bo Wade, Coco Zurita, Alan Foster, Robbie Morales, Ben
Snowden, James Dakis, & Brian Martin.
Block Jam 4 should see plenty of media coverage from the bike
magazines as well as video coverage.
This year we expect
double the pro turnout and over 10,000 spectators through out the
day. Riding will be pro and invited athletes only. Confirmed
athletes include: Stephen Murray, Bo Wade, Cesar Flores, Austin
Coleman, Mark Laue, Mark Keel, Dennis Martin,
Thomas Hancock, Brian Martin, Mike Day, Ben Snowden & too many
more to list. We have built
the sickest dirt section to date with 3 huge hips one with a built
in wall ride, 6 huge sets of doubles and a rhythm section. Street
course provided by GT, Team Soil, & Real Ride.
Specialized Bikes will be bringing their huge demo trailer full of
bikes that you can test ride on our Block Shop test track. This is
a one time opportunity for you to ride the brand new 06 line of
mountain bikes.
Rick Pruitt will be directing his second
annual vintage bike show at Block Jam which will
host Rick Twome, Bobby Encianas, Scot Briethaupt and Dave Clinton along with a
ton more BMX legends featured in Joe
Kid on a Stingray. The Ricks Bike Shop Booth will be
showing never before shown videos of Soledad Sands 74, Yamaha
Gold Cup - Coleseum, and the Shimano Grand National from Randall
Ranch courtesy of Bobby Encianas. He will also br bringing out
his personal museum af BMX artifacts never seen before by
general public. Ricks Bike Shop will be selling official replica
70's race jerseys only available at Block Jam. There will be a
judged contest in the following vintage classes: 70s BMX, 80s
BMX, BMX Cruiser, & Non BMX. Prizes will be awarded per
class and the overall BMX bike will win a SE Floval Flyer.
